Oh the FRAMING debate!
What I'm going to attempt to do is prove that when a liberal argues against a conservative--- in the end he/ she will always win. The trouble is, is that someone HAS to debate.
Often enough you will hear politico after god- damned politico saying "Democrats need to say X in order to win, they need to do Y in order to win, and they need to connect the two with Z framing."
No, no---no, NO. no. NO! We are human, not maching--- not a calculator, and phrases will never, ever guarantee you a win--- what they do is force an argument. At the end of the day, a Republican will win in the face of a debate on policy direction because the Democrat is too afraid to counter a sweeping statement made by a Republican.
Talk, I cannot stress it enough. Talk to people, connect with them--- let them know that as a Democrat you care. If there is one thing we do well, it is care. Democrats can insure large success at the ballot box if they stop being afraid, and start being proud. You cannot even imagine how proud I am to be a Democrat, and I tell everyone. I yell to the world that I was against the war from the outset, that I cried after Katrina, that I want healthcare for little kids, that I want more people in college, that I want two guys to marry each other if they so choose, and that I care about them. In the end I want to scream day in and day out that I care--- I know you do too.
You wanted that proof?
--The world does not stand still--- things always change, if there is one thing we can assume, it is this.
--There is no proven reason why any person does not perform any action besides the fact of the betterment of themselves in some form.
--To argue that change can be for the better, therefore, in and of itself should could be proven from these facets listed.
--Therefore if you can force an argument on progress versus traditionalism, ladies and gents, you not only have history on your side, but logic will follow as well.
If there is one thing you can take solace in, it is that conservatives cannot, nor will not ever win. Brave people before us forced the argument of progressivism against a seemingly insurmountable tide of conservatism. The world reveres them, however we as a populous can embody them, and our pure numbers will overwhelm the electorate that has brought us the last 6 years of pure idiocy.
Don't worry about framing guys, just worry about what will bring a better life for the most people.
All it takes, is talking.
